Contractor Categorisation Service
The Certificate of City Service Providers (Contractor Classification) is issued by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and by obtaining the certificate from the Contractor Classification Agency in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the contractor is allowed to enter government projects according to the field and grade in which he is classified.
The upgraded contractor classification is divided into five grades, starting with the first grade, which represents the highest grade until the fifth grade, and there is a special certificate for private sector contractors (Contractor Accreditation Certificate), which is the sixth grade of the classification, and it is not required for the contractor to have financial statements.
Contractors are categorised according to financial criteria, technical and administrative capabilities, and project values. In order to obtain any activity in the contractors' classification, the activity must be registered in the contractor's commercial register, in order to obtain it.
The contractor classification certificate is issued for a period of two years, and the contractor has the right to make the necessary updates to the certificate, whether it is adding a field or raising the degree of classification of contractors, and the classified contractor has the right to join hands with one of the classified contractors, provided that the classification degree of the joint contractor is the same or one degree lower than the required degree.
